I'm pleased to announce my upcoming solo show at the Garrison Art Center, featuring an installation of new Polaroids, Mediums and Chandeliers in tandem. Curated by Thomas Huber.

From the Press Release:
"Manning works in sculpture, photography, drawing and collage. His work, which has a gnarly, worn surface, teeters on a balance of dualities such as truth and lies, light and dark, experience and memory, life and death. The sculptures activate the room and the flat works play off of this. Manning’s sculptures, which he calls chandeliers, are just that - hanging lumps of tactile materials that often have heavy wear - an unknown but evidently long, hard and well used history. His flat works, which often incorporate Polaroid photographs and collage, explore themes of excavation and self. Often physically cutting through caustic layers revealing what is hidden beneath the surface and covering other parts that can’t be recalled."
